Dear daughter mine...
I've searched Internet archives and have found that nothing remarkable happened in the world on July 7, 1971, ... until you were born!
On the day you were born,
In the month of July,
Wednesday, an early morn,
Heard the tiniest cry.
All were as excited as
if the Fourth of July.
Was day seven, instead,
Simply to clarify.
Many boy births, surely...
Word quickly spread.
"It's a beautiful girlie!"
Pink bow on your head.
Big brother, awaiting
News of the arrival,
A sister? No plaything?
Where's the monkey? How dull!
"She's a keeper," we said.
"She'll grow and get bigger,
And have hair on her head,
Laugh, play and have vigor."
So keep her, we chose to,
And so glad that we did.
Birthday wishes for you,
My Remarkable Kid!.
